THE LAZIO REGION AT THE YACHT MED FESTIVAL IN GAETA Gaeta, 20-28 April 2013. YMFThe Lazio Region - Assessorato for Infrastructures, Environment and Housing Policies attended the Yacht MED Festival 2013 in Gaeta 20-28 April with a stand dedicated to the Maritime Policies in the Mediterranean Regions (Project MAREMED). On Wednesday 24th April, an International Technical Seminar on “Regional Strategies for the Adaptation to Climate Change in Mediterranean Coastal Zones” took place; at the end of the seminar, a round table discussion was organised with local administrators and stakeholders on coastal management. With reference to the event, Fabio Refrigeri, Assessore of the Environment (Lazio Region) confirmed that the Lazio Region is committed to counter coastal erosion and this is testified by the participation in the "Bologna Charter", as stated by the press on the following websites www.donnedamare.it and www.romadailynews.it. COASTGAP PROJECT APPROVED! Rome, 25 March 2013. The MED Managing Authority sent an official communication informing us that the European Project COASTGAP "Governance and Adaptation policies in the Mediterranean" was approved! The lead partner of the project is the Lazio Region. The project gathers 15 partners and has an overall budget of 1.36 milion euros. It represents a capitalisation tool which will make it possible to develop a Macro-project in the period 2014-2020.


 

COASTANCE GUIDELINES APPROVED Rome, 20 February 2013. The Area "Environmental Impact Assessment and Strategic Environmental Assessment" of the Lazio Region approved and adopted the COASTANCE Guidelines for Environmental Impact Studies related to coastal defence plans and/or works with Determina Dirigenziale n. A01160 del 20/02/2013. The COASTANCE Guidelines are published on the Lazio Region website, under the section “Impatto Ambientale”.


 

MAREMED TO ORGANISE A SEMINAR AT THE EU PARLIAMENT

BRUSSELS 21 MARCH 2013: The MAREMED project is organising a seminar with representatives of the EU Parliament to raise their awareness on the thematics of the project, and in particular on "Coastal and Maritime Spatial Planning, Key Conditions for Blue Growth in the Mediterranean". NEWS: PROJECT MEDSANDCOAST (ENPI-CBC MED) SUBMITTED!

 

FEBRUARY 2013Within the framework of the second Call - standard projects of ENPI CBC-MED Programme, the Lazio Region submitted the project proposal Regione MEDSANDCOAST "Innovative Governance Models of Sand Resources in Coastal and Marine Zones for a Strategic Defence of Mediterranean Littorals innovativi" together with its partners from France (Département de l'Hérault), Italy (Tuscany Region), Tunisia (APAL and ATIM) and Lebanon (Amwaj pour l'Environnement and la Fédération des municipalités de Sahel Al Zahrani). The results of the call are expected from the 25th March 2013. 


 

NEWS: THE MOU MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT/ITALIAN REGIONS WAS SIGNED

MARCH 2013The Memorandum of Understanding between the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea, and the Italian Regions of Liguria, Tuscany, Lazio, Campania, Sardinia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily was signed. They are part in the Western Mediterranean Subregion for the implementation of the Marine Strategy under the Italian Legislative Decree 190 of 2010. MAREMED STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING & TECHNICAL SEMINAR

ROME, 12-13 DECEMBER 2012: The Lazio Region hosted the Steering Committee Meeting and the Technical Seminar of the projet MAREMED. The Seminar took place on 13rd Dec. and focused on "Regional adaptation strategies to climate change effects in Mediterranean coastal zones" thanks to the participation of experts coming not only from partners regions such as Lazio, Tuscany, PACA and Emilia-Romagna, but also from DG MARE of the European Commission, the PESETA project and the Project RITMARE. PROGRAMME MED - CAPITALISATION PROJECT COASTGAP SUBMITTED  Rome, 31 October 2012: The Lazio Region (lead partner) submitted its new project proposal within the Programme MED - Capitalisation Call. The project COASTGAP - Governance and Adaptation policies in Mediterranean Coastal Zones gathers 15 partners and 29 external partners. It deals with the theme Integrated Coastal Zone Management in the Mediterranean basin and aims to suggest actions and strategies for the next EU programming period 2014-2020.
 

FACECOAST AT COASTDAY 2012 IN SPLIT

SPLIT (Croatia), 25-26 September 2012. The MED FACECOAST cluster took part in the COASTDAY 2012 organised by PAP/RAC, as partner of the project SHAPE (IPA-Adriatic Cross-Border Cooperation Programme).
