FACECOAST AT THE COASTANCE FINAL MEETING IN GREECE
The last COASTANCE Technical and Steering Committee Meeting (reserved to project partners) and Public Conference were held from 26 to 28 March 2012 in Komotini, Greece.
The partners grasped the occasion to discuss about the general progress and results of the project. Together with Mr Spyros Arseniou, head of the Office for International Affairs and European Projects of the REMTH Region, the partners discussed the Final Declaration of the project and how to implement it in the partner regions.

 MAREMED MEETING IN GREECE (Heraklion)
The MAREMED Steering & Technical Committee meeting (reserved to partners) and the Public Conference were held on the 3rd and 4th of April 2012 in Heraklion, Greece.
FACECOAST activities were presented to the partners of MAREMED. Agenda EN, Agenda FR, Registration Form.

RESMAR and THESEUS European projects joined FACECOAST. After the initial adhesion of the two European projects of the MED program, MAREMED and COASTANCE (last 10th November in Rome), other two projects RESMAR ("Rete di Tutela Ambientale nello Spazio Marittimo", Crossborder Maritime programme Italy-France) and THESEUS (Innovative technologies for safer European coasts in a changing climate, FP7) joined the cluster FACECOAST: ”Face the challenge of climate change in the med coastal zones”. FACECOAST, which will start its activities in January 2012, already includes more than 80 partners and aims to gather the contributions of the European projects which dealt with the matter of the coastal defense against natural and anthropogenic risks (erosion, flooding, salt water intrusion, subsidence, etc.) in the frame of the adaptation policy to climate change (sea level rise, strengthening of extreme phenomenon, etc.) and sustainable development. The joining is open not only to the MED programme projects but as well to the other cooperation programs (ENPI CBC, IPA, MARITIME Italy-France, etc.) or sectoral ones (FP7, LIFE+, etc.). The target is to promote an exchanging space about the Mediterranean coastal defense against erosion and flooding hazards and consequent risks, taking into account of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management approach. Therefore the main thematic is open towards other interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral contributions which will be the “link units” exchanging with other projects or different potential clusters. The cluster FACECOAST actively attended the “Cluster and Capitalization Day”, organized by the MED programme in Marseille last 30th November, by presenting its objectives and its candidature for the next capitalization call.

SEMINARIO TECNICO DI COASTANCE - I giorni 26 e 27 gennaio 2012 si è svolto presso la sede di Roma dell’ISPRA (Via Vitaliano Brancati, 48) il SEMINARIO TECNICO del progetto europeo COASTANCE. L’apertura del Seminario è stata dedicata al cluster FACEcoast (26 mattina), il 26 pomeriggio alla componente 5 “Linee Guida per gli Studi di Impatto Ambientale riguardanti piani e lavori di protezione costiera”, il 27 mattina alla componente 3 “Rischio costiero: inondazione ed erosione” ed il 27 pomeriggio è stata discussa la componente 4 “Piani di azione territoriale per la gestione della protezione costiera”.

MAREMED PROJECT - TECHNICAL WORKSHOP
10 November 2011 - The Technical Workshop "Regional strategies for adaptation to climate change in Mediterranean coastal zones" was held in Rome, at theoffices of the Lazio Region, Sala Tirreno.
